Just installed a new Ultraloq Pro Wifi and it’s all working well, but the Auto-unlock doesn’t work even though it sends me notifications when I’m back to say it will unlock when I approach the door. Do I need to have the app running when I try this or is it a bug?

I’m having the same issues. Have 3 different U-tec locks because I liked them and turned 2 Auto Unlock off just to get one to work properly.
Problems ever since last update and it’s taking along time to get fixed,?!
It’s a bug,which I don’t understand??
Should be so simple.
I’ve now turned Auto-unlock off. It works occasionally but mostly not. Looks like a bug to me.
Hi support, I have the same issue. Auto-unlock has never worked once, even though the leaving/approaching notifications are received. I have the Ubolt pro with bridge.
Typically and unfortunately this is a ‘feature’ of the lock.
It’s a crying shame actually, all other lock functionality is very good.
And… when the auto unlock feature works its excellent…however incredibly intermittent. I’ve had it work for a few days and then not work for a week.
I’ve even tried to analyse it and try to come up with a pattern, sequence or whatever to try and ascertain what causes it. But cannot get any joy there either. Frustrating.
Had 2 locks for more than 6 months now and like having them but would love them if the auto unlock worked. ![]()
6 months now, still waiting for a fix.
Does anyone even work for this company anymore? Or it is just acceptable for your features to NOT WORK?
I agree. It’s pathetic!
Doesn’t work for me at all, and I don’t get any notifications, like none about anything unlocking manually the auto-locking… sigh…
Hi. I just installed my U-Bolt Pro and everything works except the auto-unlock. I have all the settings correct to activate it but it fails to read my approach. I do not get notifications that it senses me “away “ or “home”. What is the fix?
Hi, we have replied to you in the ticket 516860, and please check your email inbox later.
Same issue. I get “Welcome Home” notifications that state that the door will be auto-unlocked and it never works. iPhone at 18.7 iOS and latest firmware for U-Bolt WiFi and Fingerprint model. Have Apple Watch app as well and it also fails to unlock the door.
Well this is very concerning to read as a new user immediately having the same issue. Seems a return may be in order, as well as spreading the word.
@Tyrone Hi Tyrone, we have contacted you in ticket #527009, please kindly check your email. Thanks!
Hi Tyrone - Long time user here. Just want to give you some background on AutoUnlock. [Note: I have a lock with a bridge for wifi, and an iPhone 13mini running iOS 18.7.1 and lock firmware 02.26.0020, my app is version 3.5.6 - your mileage may vary, as the saying goes]
AutoUnlock operation has two components. First, your app has to recognise when you leave the geofence and then re-enter it. It gets that information from your phone’s GPS. If it does NOT sense both these events, autounlock is not “primed”.
Second, once primed, your phone starts to look for your lock to connect to the lock’s Bluetooth system and then send, via BT, the unlock command. The geofence distance is greater than BT range so AU will not happen if you are just driving by between errands, for example.
So the first thing to check is whether the first component, which is totally in your phone, is working. This is easy to see if you look at your lock’s settings in the app. Next to “Auto Unlock” it should, of course, say “Enabled”, at the next level down, it tells you what “mode” you are in - Away or Back. So if you leave the geofence you can see if it shows away, and when you return it should show Back.
The next test is to see if your phone can “find” your lock’s bluetooth. Turn off your phone’s cellular data and wifi. Leave your house (locking your door behind you), walk a few hundred feet away, open your app and see if you can connect to your lock over bluetooth (if you can, go further away). Once you are out of bluetooth range, shut the app, walk back to maybe 10 ft from your lock, open the app and try to unlock your lock (or just see if your app shows a bluetooth connection). If it doesn’t, wait a little and look again and/or walk right up to your lock and try again.
If the above all works, there’s one more test I think you can perform, but I have to go try it myself…. I’ll get back to you with that.
I just bought my Bolt Fingerpint lock yesterday and my Auto Unlock feature isn’t working. It seems like multiple problems. The first time I left home, it seemed to since that I was away because I saw notifications in my phone’s notification history indicating that I was away. And when I returned it seemed to sense that I was back. But I got a notification that said there was a communication error and Auto Unlock failed. However, when I tested it later and went far beyond my geofence setting, it never sensed that I was away. Looking back at past community posts, it looks like this problem has been going on for years. This seems to be a bad sign that a company has a problem with their product for years and can’t fix it. Everything else works great, but Auto Unlock is one of the primary reasons I selected this lock. Should I just return my lock or does anyone think that there’s any hope that this problem will be fixed?
