Hi,

Ive got a number of rfid implants, which i use for a variety of access control applications. I am able to register my mifare classic implant as a key, but not unlock the door with it after. My usual keyfob is a mifare classic clone which works fine and is a direct copy of my implant. It seems like the output power of the coil is significantly higher when registering, compared to when unlocking which has been confirmed with a led tester. Is there a way to increase the output power when unlocking, and if not, would it be possible to implement such a feature?

@Iamthesoy were you able to address this? I had the exact same experience, although I found it hard to even enroll. I have four implants, and the flexNT has a pretty impressive range relative to the NeXT and NeXTV2, but it’s difficult (not impossible) to enroll and is never able to scan.

I did notice a couple of things. In the app, there’s a number next to the key - that number is just a four byte integer from the UID of the NFC chip - so it’s not encrypted or anything. I cloned one of my implants onto my flipper after enrolling it, and the flipper opens the lock just fine. That was the most confusing part of all – how could I enroll it but not be able to lock/unlock it with just my chip while the Flipper works fine?! Now that I see your post, I realize you’re exactly right - the power output is just higher when enrolling!
