Finger print access gone

This is a product i will never suggest anyone buy. I bought it for the finger print access and they took it away. And don’t start with the do this do that, Ive done it all. Nothing works. They sold a product and then took away a feature with an update. Bad product, bad company. Zero for this company.

I purchased 2 locks from Amazon, the support has replaced both locks 2 times. I’ve left poor reviews on Amazon, they still disconnect from my wifi I ended up buying a specific router just for them and enable only 2.4gh to connect to. Still have issues, there is so much potential with these but I see so many reviews saying the same thing it is just sad.

@ereaut Hi there, we have contacted you in ticket #532249, please kindly check your email. Thanks!

I feel your frustration. I run a small hotel, a series of 12 cabins on one property. I used to use z wave locks and transitioned to ultraloq locks. They were rocky out the gate.
I will say that support worked with me every step of the way and answered the phone every time. Sometimes I did get a less competent person, but overall they were solid.
Yes, I had to set up a 2.4ghz only ssid for these locks. But what finally made things run normally is understanding when to change the batteries. They just don’t last that long. They will start acting squirrely before their system will tell you the battery is low.
By squirrely I mean they’ll randomly go offline for a while. My norm is now to use 4 rechargeable batteries and change them out every month. I can push it to 6 weeks on average, but I just make it part of my monthly routine. With non-rechargeable AAs, batteries purchased directly from Ultraloq I got around 3 months before they started acting squirrely.
Between the wifi dedicated to 2.4ghz and swapping the batteries monthly I have had zero issues in the last 10 months with the 11 locks I use. I’m actually building 11 more cabins and have already purchased more of the same locks.
FYI I have 9 of the NFC locks and 2 fingerprint locks. They all work.

I would not use one of these on my home as a one off since the batteries die so frequently and the battery meter in their app is next to useless. But the battery drain is a common issue with any wifi lock.

Hi Ruston,

My battery life has always been very good and I run 2.4ghz and 5ghz routers and have never had an issue, the wifi simply chooses the signal it best wants.

My issue is the removal of the finger print scanner. My lock worked perfectly for about 3 yrs and then i was going away and my son need access to my house so we were setting up his finger prints and as we were doing this the lock wanted to do a full update and i pushed ok. From that very moment the finger print access completely stopped working and there was no fix, all the customer service is a rort, they know why these things stop working and simply want you to buy more locks. So if you are having trouble now your problems are only going to get worse. Sorry for the bad news but this company is a bad one and does not deserve our money.

Cheers Greg

I bought 3 of these mickey mouse ultra locks and none of them work properly. I contacted amazon and they directed me to ultra lock, ultra lock offered to replace them at considerable cost to me. It was actually cheaper to throw the ultra lock junk in the garbage and buy new weiser lock and they work flawlessly. Ultra lock is over priced garbage that has not worked properly from day 1 and the only support the company offers is an email telling me to reset the locks or reinstall the app? DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON, YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!
